1.2.1 Key documents guiding the management of your grant
sample text
At your University
Information about your application will be recorded by the Research Grants Administration and Funding Office at the time of submission. When advice is received that the application has been successful, the information will be updated to record the level and duration of funding, any special conditions, and reporting requirements.
From October 2009, the university introduced a way to assist named investigators to understand the requirements of the ARC and NHMRC Funding Agreements. All named CIs will be offered a short on-line module that takes the form of a case study and covers the key requirements of the granting body.
When the Funding Agreement has been signed and you have obtained ethical clearances (if applicable) for your project, the Research Grants Administration and Funding Office will request a project-specific account number from Corporate Finance Research. The account number will be recorded and an account code letter will be generated and sent to the first-named CI/PI providing information about:
- The investigators and their administering units or institutions
- The project title
- The level and duration of funding
- Significant dates (e.g., reporting requirements)
- Budgetary details
- Special conditions (if applicable).
Copies of the account code letter are sent to the first-named CI’s/PI’s head of school, and the school’s finance officer. Copies of supporting documentation are available on the project e-file, accessed via Records Online: http://recordsonline.usyd.edu.au/
The supporting documentation will include copies of:
- The original application
- Letter of offer
- Funding agreement and information about any special conditions that attach to the award
- Any other documents relevant to administration of the grant.
